It's not all the pies.

I've never been that much of a pie person. Never really lived in a big pie culture really. Never ate all the pies, never made pie. Is it all that easy? I don't know. I'm sure it's easy to eat a pie, provided you like the pie and you're not too full already, ie out in a restaurant where you generally get a huge meal and then get desert which I hardly ever do and it's like pie, which to be honest I don't usually see even if I pay attention to the dessert menu, but if I did I'd probably be like, I can't eat this pie I'm full.

Where am I going with this? Nowhere, exactly nowhere. Not much of a pie person, more of a beer person. I was just at a beer festival, lots of lesser known small town darker and more fruity and higher alcohol content than usual beers. I had 2. Feel like I had.. more than 2.

Lovely evening it is.

Just popping in..

to say hi.

Hi.

Been quiet again. Same old thing nothing to write about and when there's something to write about it's something I don't really want to write about and when it's something I would like to write about it's something I don't want to share and when it's something I'm ok sharing I can't be bothered.

Pretty much that.

Easter weekend was nice, no eggs here, not much chocolate even but beer, always the beer.

There's a saying..

we have, it goes "Australia sees the light at the end of Jan like, something..." ok it's just me that has this saying, and I just (almost) made it up. It is Australia day today, the anniversary of the day a bunch of white people settling in a land that was already populated by people and saying "hey, look what we discovered? No one lives here, not really, so let's move in". One of them anyway. It's a holiday that never been of any note to me, and as I left the place, instead of staying long enough... and my life had taken a considerably different path than the one it has here.. for the potential day off that falls in what is already the summer holidays but not necessarily work holidays, thus giving the holiday some kind of relevance to me, I usually even barely notice it. For some reason I did note the date today, no significance, just remembered. One thing for it, it falls in late January, meaning there is less than a week left for this cur-sed month. You know why I wrote it like that, make sure you pronounce that correctly. I know the turn o' the month doesn't actually mean anything, there's no magic, no better luck that will befall me just because the month has a different name but 2 things are very true. 1) By February, this damn cough/cold/whatever the fuck is wrong with me should be over with, and 2) I'll be back on the booze, because I have been drinking this month, except for the times that I drank, but I won't be not drinking in Feb which may not be exactly great in some aspects, but I still like to have the option.

wot i did on my holaday

It was quite a fun filled eventful trip after all. With all the us going to a chilled out seaside city.. if you'd call it that at all.. wanting to have a relaxing holiday for once, and actually quite succeeding.. me being me who.. well there is a pretty decent list of things I did, some I haven't before which includes:

  • swim in a coral reef
  • walk in the desert
  • drink beer
  • see dolphins
  • go to a basketball game
  • have carrots with beer
  • dip my feet in the Dead Sea
  • walk around a city with luggage going into random places
  • drink beer on the beach
  • stand on the edge of a rocky desert
  • lie on the beach
  • be accosted by religious people of confusing denomination and get free coffee and listen to music
  • go to pubs, and have beer
  • see a lot of birds
  • meet a lot of fish
and other things.. probably. Of course there is lots more to do in and around Eilat.. so it's an excuse to go there again. Plus we know people there.

Havin a whale...

of a time. Goldstar.. and the sea.. here in Eilat.

*slams down phone*

I really really really want to slam the universal giant phone down on all the public in the entire world, forever. Seriously. That would make me happy. That and a beer, but mostly the slamming. And a beer. A beer would  be welcome right now but without the slamming o the phone, it'd be just a beer.

Oh I work with phones did I mention, this job I just started. Yeah. Well, I think it's a phone, it calls people up, you talk to people on it but it's like, got this boxy bit that's attached to a table and a separate handle thing you pick up, you know like those things people use in Mad Men. I think I remember something like that from my childhood and no I'm not quite that old but.. old enough for vague memories.. ok not so vague but you know, been a while since I've been anywhere near one of those things.

So after a few days of inadequate training, I got on the phone, just for a while in the last hour. Most of it was taken up with technical difficulties, so I really wasn't on for more than 20 minutes.. but, it was enough to know that.. well that it was shitty, at least the first few times. Was not ready, did not feel comfortable, did not like!

So tomorrow I gotta do it all day, and then the day after that, and the day after that is Saturday so I'll probably be doing the beer thing and then on Monday again.. and I know it'll get less awkward and less awful but still.. jeez!

*metaphorically slams phone on all the weird old boxy landline things left in the world*

na.. didn't work. Gonna need that beer.

1.24.2013

So.. 3 days.. 5 days, maybe 4.

I never drank again ever after the last time, and it lasted 5 whole days. Well about that, not sure I haven't counted them and I can't be bothered to figure out exactly how many days it is.

*thinks about it*

er... who cares.

In any case, I've done well. I would like another beer though. *wonders if it would be a good idea for about a second and then thinks nothing of it*

going to sleep now

8.29.2012

Nearing the end..

I'm already starting to get wistful for this whole "movie" thing that I'm working on. At the same time I'm glad there are only 2 days left.. in the up til now very elusive church.

Yesterday was the beergarden.. and as can be imagined, one of the more fun scenes.. and days. I spent most of the day er.. hanging out in a  beergarden. Not to say I didn't work, but it seemed more like.. hanging out in a beergarden. A lot more people there, friends and whatnot.. and it was quite fun. Oh and beer. Not that I overindulged, but it was present.

Oh and I did a cameo. Again. Some sunglasses and a lot of hair did the trick.

And now onto the final 2 days.. what will they bring forth.. how will this all end up.. when will we ever see this movie?

One wonders.

8.22.2012

Before the red curtain.

It's weird, this movie making stuff. I can't even remember the morning, it seems so long ago. I'm sure something happened of note, but I can't recall what it was.

I remember the place. It was notable for being a lot more elegant than what we're used to, not saying a lot, considering we've been located in what pretty much amounts to a squat for a week, but this place is pretty nice, though it has a rather unimpressive entrance. I know some of what happened, shooting, waiting, listening, talking, being ignored, being in a small room with many people and lights on a very hot day. Sweaty. A lot of arguing and taking too much time for everything. I know that at one point the voices, the many voices, arguing, and talking at the same time became too numerous and loud that I had to leave the room.

Did a few scenes, not as many as were written down on the schedule, but did them. Lunch.. another scene and then I got roped into being in the midst of it all again. Just sitting, watching the performance, pretending I liked the song and the execution of. before a very Lynch esque red curtain. Many times. I had beer, so it was doable.. and I did a pretty good job, put some details and shit in there.. I kinda rocked this extra role, way more than my sucky job as a nurse last night.

It was quite fun overall.. one of the more enjoyable long stints of repeated takes of a scene in this whole gig.. though I already can't quite remember it clearly...

6.17.2011

One more thing before I go.

I mean I don't have time.. I still have to pack, and tidy up and.. well, the stuff I didn't get yet isn't gonna get got so.. spose I'll make it.

Been shlepping, rushing, waiting and.. well let's be honest spending plenty of time farting around, it's something I always manage to find time to do, but I've gotten stuff done, so you can be proud of me.

Speaking of.. just before I go, I don't want to forget, you know that thing? The thing I was going on about for like, ever, and never did anything, and then I did something but couldn't show it, and then I didn't do anything for a year and then I did and I fucked it up again, and then I did something else and for some reason didn't upload it, and then a little bit later did more and finally I uploaded an intro to the actual thing I'm doing?

Well this is the actual thing I'm doing.

See ya later.

10.14.2010

*raises glass*

I'm having a real life anniversary today. That is, a celebration of some number of whole years since a particular important incident occurred, as opposed to say.. a 2 week anniversary which is a logical impossibility and does not exist!

Just under 3 years ago exactly was the first time I met with my gentleman friend Erik, for the first time in real life, after knowing each other exclusively online for a while, at the horse statue.

We then wandered on to the inaugural dinner, at U Medvidku, a charming spot which I've been to many a time over the years, but which has since been given a special place in my heart since this aforementioned event.. and subsequently one which we are revisiting this evening. And revisited a year ago.. and the year before that...

and we'll have beer, perhaps some cheese though perhaps not this evening as one half of the partnership has recently become sorta vegan, but that's ok, we'll have beer, and we'll be dorks.. and then we'll have some dinner somewhere else...

I'm not expecting to go on a wild goose chase afterwards.. like the original meeting.. we didn't catch any geese that night, probably because they're don't seem to be too many in Žižkov, where we were, but we didn't find that bar either.. we did find another one though.. I mean, there's always some bar.. who knows. Maybe we'll chase some nonexistent geese, or maybe not, but I wouldn't be adverse to some kind of shenanigans occuring, it seems like the night for it.

Except for the fact that the water heater dude is coming early tomorrow to finally replace our old and barely functioning one after a few aborted attempts.. but that's relatively unimportant.

8.08.2010

Who needs these "friend" people anyway?

One of my friends had a birthday yesterday of all vulgar, common things. This meant that I was positively forced to go out and drink with him of course. I was "literally" roped into staying out and having beer after beer and of course.. him having a habit of ordering shot after shot of Fernet Citrus for our jolly party of 3 was made, practically at gunpoint to down every one of them.

I have a headache now.

Friends! *snorts derisively*

5.31.2009

Ok..

One more. Just one more for this month to make it an even number.

Finally got to just run across the road for some beer and food.. I mean I could have done it at any point but I didn't feel like doing it alone but I didn't and now I have someone to go with so I did.

It was nice. And now we can have June.

*burps*

5.17.2009

See the little goblin..

I'm drinking beer. I'm only on the first so I'm not seeing goblins yet. Unless you count the furry little one that's clambering around on the computer chair.

I made bread today, or rather yesterday or rather the wee small hours of the morning.. I wanted bread with breakfast and was intending to do it yesterday and zoned out on it until about midnight, and then I thought for and against for a while until I decided to start it about 1am.

And they turned out like rocks, which sucks because the last 2 times I made bread it was fucking awesome. I know what you're thinking it's because I started it at such an hour, but I think it's because I changed the quantities, I made less than usual because it's just me here, so I thirded everything.. and I think maybe I didn't use enough yeast, or something. Dunno. It's not that bad, it's edible, but it is quite disappointing.

I have beer though, and that softens the blow a little. *burps*

4.12.2009

And onto Sunday..

Easter Sunday. This is the one that's supposed to be happy. I'm pretty chill right now, and not because.. continuing on with the Jesusian theme which I so love and am so knowledgeable about :) because our saviour has (or is about to . not sure which.. um) rise from the dead, and not because I'm about to, or have coated my insides with chocolate (this one I might) and not even because I had fun colouring eggs (this one I didn't.. kind of long story, actually it's not, I bought some egg colours the other day and put them away somewhere and totally couldn't find them) and drawing faces on them and making my inaugural eggstravaganza of egg family antics...

I think I lost my train of thought. Whatever. I feel like another beer. *burps*

2.12.2009

Bring on the beer.

OMG I haven't written like, for ages! That's 3 days, but I suppose it's a good sign, not long ago, id I posted just 3 days after the last post I would have thought I was positively prolifent. Is that the word I mean? Nevermind.

I'm so glad I like beer again. I had one of those incidents last Friday that put me off beer forever. Fortunately that lasted a total of 2 days and for most of this week I've been happily indulging. Today I'll enjoy some, for no other reason than I feel like it, and it's a special day no less.

Yes, Charles Darwin, the man who invented science, and killed god dead with a single blow of his razor sharp hand is celebratig his 200th birthday today. So have a drink for Charles, who I'm sure is beaming down on the post religion, enlightened world he invented, from wherever the hell he's enjoying his birthday drink in the afterlife. Wait.. there's a logical inconsistancy there, but I can't put my finger on it.

Whatever. I'll have a drink myself even if worm eaten corpses are unable. Actually I don't think there'd be anything left for the worms by now. There's some food for thought for you there.. guffaw guffaw.

Rainbows and sparkly ponies! Sorry, felt the need to provide a little balance after that

12.11.2008

A cool photo I once took..

this is from the night of my birthday, it's relatively cool in relation to my other photos anyway.

Cocktails
I'm fillering again, I had a post in my head but someone else was on the computer while it was there and the moment passed. It's still there and the combination of having to work to bring it out and caring that it won't be quite like the original is stopping me from writing it right now so you're getting this. Damn this combination of caring so much and not being bothered enough that plagues me so!

I did have a few beers tonight.

Burp

It's really great having this boyfriend guy around. Not only is he gorgeous, wonderful company, has a cute kitty and makes great lasagne, but he encourages me to do stuff. I mean, I never used to do stuff, and yesterday we had this holiday here.. I dunno something about ending communism or whatever.. but anyway people who have proper jobs got the day off (ie him) so we decided to use the opportunity to go and explore a bit more of this fine country we live in. We went to Plzen which is famous for not much except beer, but beer's good enough for us so off we went.

It was fun, we saw the brewery, got to go to "The Pub", not just as pub, but "The" pub, for which I felt honoured, we got to pour our own beer, or in my case foam, but I'm easily amused so I enjoyed the novelty. And other stuff but that's already been written about so I'll leave it.

1.04.2008

Jan must go!

I don't much care for January. It sucks. It's cold, it's miserable, it's boring. It is pointless and unnecessary. It's also the month where I have shit I have to deal with that I wish was over already, and the month I have to wait out until I get to the next month where things are happening that I want to get to. And isn't the calendar way overdue for a revisal.. I mean it's been the way it is since the Romans were around, and that's like.. years ago..

Jan sucks. And I'm not gonna sit here and just moan about it, I'm gonna do something! What we need is to get loads of people together and form a anti January resistance. We'll all get together and march on.. whoever and rabble rouse and generally cause disturbances. We'll keep protesting and causing trouble and noise until January is damn well gone!

So who's in? You get a free beer..
