The eve of...

solitude.

Well, if you don't count having a rather lively and noisy kitty about, which I do so I suppose it's not the right word.

Erik is off again tomorrow, travelling with work, again, this time to Toronto and Chicago for 2 weeks. So I'll be left to my own devices again. I'll be alone for most of this holiday but fortunately it's the chocolate one so it's cool.

Actually I don't have any chocolate.. I might get some. I have plenty of eggs.. so I'll be living lots of partly dyed egg salad for a few days :)

It's a tolerable Friday.

Easter has begun. If one were to pick a particular day that is "Easter Day" though the holiday is more a half week than a day per se, but if one insisted then one would have to choose Sunday. Well, one wouldn't have to it just seems the most appropriate day. However, as I said Easter is more a half week than a day and therefore this Friday (apparently a "good" one) is more Easter proper than say.. boxing day is proper Christmas, though not necessarily more than xmas eve is xmas if you live in a country that puts the focus more on the eve than the day but I'm getting kind of off the point so..

Happy Easter those that celebrate. Happy Jesus' day o suffering if you're into that and happy chocolate if you're into that.

Oh and that stuff I said yesterday? I've been convinced that it's malarkey. Of course, I may have been pulling one's collective leg with that whole post.. if you know what I mean. And I think.. you know what I mean.

So yeah.. bunnies and eggs and switches and all that.

And onto Sunday..

Easter Sunday. This is the one that's supposed to be happy. I'm pretty chill right now, and not because.. continuing on with the Jesusian theme which I so love and am so knowledgeable about :) because our saviour has (or is about to . not sure which.. um) rise from the dead, and not because I'm about to, or have coated my insides with chocolate (this one I might) and not even because I had fun colouring eggs (this one I didn't.. kind of long story, actually it's not, I bought some egg colours the other day and put them away somewhere and totally couldn't find them) and drawing faces on them and making my inaugural eggstravaganza of egg family antics...

I think I lost my train of thought. Whatever. I feel like another beer. *burps*

Give us a break already..

before I start ranting, I have to add that it's come to my attention that this actually isn't such a big deal and this has been going on in other, more capitalist parts of the world for some time but...

I was shopping at the supermarket earlier, and passed the veggie section and went to the part where they tend to have.. stuff, chocolates, seasonal stuff er.. stuff like..

chocolate bunnies!!! yes that's what I saw, chocolate fucking easter fucking bunnies!!!
I mean, we only just got over christmas! Now I'm going to calm down.

Ok, some people who live in English speaking parts of the world said they've had chocolate eastery stuff in the shops they go to since about after the new year, so this is nothing special. Talk about a letdown, I took a photo and everything but it didn't come out too good so it ain't going up anywhere. Not sure why we're behind those places in pushing family/capitalist/religious/chocolate eating holidays actually, we're pretty big on those here strangely enough, the only thing I can think of is that they waited until after they pushed chocolate hearts and shit on us for Valentine's day, something that isn't supposed to be such a big deal here but you do get the merchandise all the same, and thus we got until the 3rd week of Feb to be free of Easter. I could be wrong, in fact I probably am.

I know which bit I want.

Chocolate Jesus.. mmm.

A New York gallery has angered a US Catholic group with its decision to exhibit a milk chocolate sculpture of Jesus Christ.

The six-foot (1.8m) sculpture, entitled "My Sweet Lord", depicts Jesus
Christ naked on the cross.

I thought Catholics were into eating Jesus?
Catholic League head Bill Donohue called it "one of the worst assaults on Christian sensibilities ever".
You're being a bit dramatic there aren't you? Ever is a long time.. they used to throw you in the Collosseum with lions remember. I fail to see how this compares.
The Catholic League, which describes itself as the nation's largest
Catholic civil rights organisation, also criticised the timing of the
exhibition. "The fact that they chose Holy Week shows this is calculated,
and the timing is deliberate," Mr Donohue said.
Well, you know, Easter/eating body of Christ, it works. How would you have liked it if they just had a giant bunny on "Holy Week" huh? I bet you'd be complaining about that too.
Mr Cavallaro, the Canadian-born artist, is known for using food ingredients in his art, .... he used 200 pounds (90 kg) of chocolate to make the sculpture which, unusually, depicts Jesus without a loincloth.
He he. Nude chocolate Jesus.

Happy minor capitalist holiday.

I love yoo'se all. Honestly. Truly, deeply, unconditionally. Even those of you I've never heard of. I was going to send you some chocolate but I ate it all. Sorry, my declaration of love is going to have to do.

Oh and as you all know, I'm a big dork when it comes to holidays and milestones and such, so make sure you check out my newest themed photos. That's if you've got nothing better to do.
