We got snow

We got a bit, it faded or melted or something, it snowed more, then that melted and I think it's been doing both those things again since, maybe a few times. I, of course, took some photos at some point.

A little bit o' snow

Earlier this week.

Winter is here..

Been very mild around here, which is nice, well not nice it's not terrible. It has been, for the most part quite dull and grey, except fro when it's sunny which it has been sometimes, but you know.. it gets dark early, and the trees are all bare so, it's still sort of dreary looking out there. It's still not that cold, which does quite please me but this morning I got up.. not sure what time it was, Cooley woke me and was messing around and wouldn't stop so I got up.. first went to er.. you know nature calls and all that, looked out the window and.. it looked just the same as it does every morning. Then about an hour, 2 hours, an hour and a half I'm not sure, later, Erik got up and said.. hey.. there's white stuff out there. And there was, white stuff. Snow it was, kind of a dusting, ie sorta light but still, pretty. It's been snow/raining most of the day so it's still around, though it seems a bit warm for it to stay so we'll see how it looks tomorrow, but I have my dreams of heavy visibility issues inducing snowfalls and piles and piles of snow on the ground and a perfect winter wonderland, whatever the forecast says. I'm looking forward to it.

I think I understand "other people" a bit..

It's so beautiful, so white and magical and.. white and snowy and.. white.. yeah it snowed again. It's been doing that. It did it last week and then it kind of went away, snowed a little more then went away... then it went away and was grey and ugly for a few days and it continued cold but I thought, it's got to be over it.. got to be out of it's system now all there is left to do is for it to warm up, and bloom, and stuff. And it snowed. It's slightly warmer than it was but at this point I want weather that's appropriate for a different season altogether and nothing less. I mean, it is beautiful, if I'd gotten this 2 months or even a month ago, which I did, and quite a lot really.. I would be.. oh pretty. Ok by about the 4th week of having this regularly it was more like.. "oh, it's still snowing" *closes blinds* but you know, none of the grumbling that normal people do as soon as there's a hint of snow, none of the flashbacks to getting up at the crack of dawn to sweep tons of snow off the porch so dad can drive into town back in the old town.. but ya know.. it's kinda bugging me now.

Off on a midnight train..

Yep, I totally am. I am "literally" going on a midnight train tonight, to sunny Eilat. I mean, it's actually due to take off at 5 minutes to midnight and it's not a train it's a plane and it's not going to Eilat it's going to Tel Aviv from where we, at 3am or so will make our way to Jerusalem to refresh ourselves and rest and wait for the ride to Eilat. Which is sunny, and by the sea. Oh it's cold here, did I mention, and snowing, hasn't stopped actually, it's kind of weird in a way, and it's getting colder and should be like.. super cold tomorrow. *smirks* It's like.. mid to high 20s in Eilat. And it's by the sea. *tries not to look smug and fails* So.. for now we've got all the "traveling" part of the traveling to do.. and well.. it's a whole lot of schleppng and waiting and passport control and being in airports and cities in the middle of the night so I'm looking forward to that part being done and being in Eilat, which is warm, oh and it's by the sea, did I mention? Yeah, I'd kind of like it to be that bit. By this time tomorrow, it will be that bit, so I hope for it to be then. Catch ya later.

18 hours to the sun

It's rather dull and overcast out there, got that white sky that you get when it's snowing/been snowing and there's a light cover of snow on grass and roofs, you know the kind of half melted away kind, not the fluffy thick one that stays in the trees and makes everything beautiful, but just makes everything look cold. And slippery. The temperature is -2, but it feels like -7, apparently. Why am I telling you this? Well, this plans to go on for some time, at least for another few weeks, this cold and general slippery conditions but some time tomorrow, well the day after tomorrow technically just after midnight, I'll be in the sun. Well it won't be sunny because it'll be 3 in the morning but it'll be warm, nevertheless. And then when the sun comes up it will be sunny. It's cos of that trip, the one I've been talking about.. flight leaves in just 18 hours, well a bit under that now. So 2 days from now I'll be somewhere warm, not quite lying on the beach yet because we'll still have to make our way to Eilat, but, we won't be sitting by a window with light rain/snow falling outside.

I'm over this winter thing. I wasn't all that interested in the first place, to be honest. I mean, I like snow and stuff.. but, there really isn't enough of it for the whole time that winter is around, and if there was, I'd probably be as over that as well, like people who grew up with it, and grumble as the snowflakes start falling, turning the landscape all beautiful and stuff.. when kids and dogs come out to frolic and.. ok I like snow. We had another shower last night, well, quite a heavy fall.. it was particularly wonderlandy this morning, complete with snow on the end o the branches of the trees where the leaves are supposed to be. It was very pretty.. of course, this morning was the morning the fixit dudes came in to fix the windows in the bathroom, and they came late, and took their time starting, and then the 2 or 3 hours estimate they gave us for the time it would take turned out to be wildly inaccurate and they were here all day and thus, I have not been out once. Except to go downstairs to buy a few things.. and well, it seems to have melted pretty quickly giving us that "recently snowed and there's some lying about but it's not all that pretty anymore" look. It seems to be like that most of the time, except for when it's just grey, and the days are still to short and to be quite honest it's too cold. And in just under a week we're going to Eilat, a particularly lovely warm town by the sea in Israel so.. nice break from this all. After that we're back, and it'll be March, and it will probably be cold to very cold for some weeks yet and might even snow more and it's not even officially spring until the late part of the month according to these northern hemisphereans which I've never really gotten used to but apparently it's like that.. but, nevertheless it is going to be March.. and March is.. spring, sorta. So it won't be so bad after that. Just 5 days.. and a couple of hours we're off on a midnight flight. Quite looking forward to that.

And it's winter again.

I woke up, and it was all grey and stuff.. about an hour, there was a light smattering of snow on everything.. about a half hour after that, not so light smattering. And it just kept on going. It's quite nice really.. and for once, I didn't come across a single grumbler today, I either met with people of a similar background in that they come from places, even if it's been a while since they've been there, where it doesn't snow, or, well, didn't really talk to anyone, or speaking to tourists that are visiting, or just talking to myself, but I didn't have to listen to the usual grumblers grumbling that it's no longer that dreary, grey, leafless pointless season that is winter when it doesn't snow or where it doesn't snow, to the more, wonderland-ish type of winter, that's all white and beautiful. So that was nice. I believe it's still snowing too. I don't know how long it will, but it's possible I will start grumbling at some point, I won't just yet though.

What it's like here..

It's cold, been snowing a bit sometimes, not too heavy, but staying cold enough so it doesn't melt. Not the best conditions really.. and not the most pretty.. this is already a few days old as my batteries completely died and I haven't gotten new ones yet, not much out there worth shooting though.

Finally..

a change.

It snowed. Not a lot.. the light fluttery type that leaves a thin film on top of surfaces and is gone from all but grass, roofs and cars before too long, but it was something and it was pretty.

A bit of white instead of the usual grey. So that was nice for today.

I don't know why but I thought it might be worthwhile to mention that. There's some stuff going on but it's the kind of stuff I don't really feel the need to give details about just yet, so I won't give details about that just yet, if I get around to it.

Mix in a bit of white and you got late October.

It's snowing. I know that's not so unusual, it's getting near actual winter and in some places it regularly snows this early, like properly.. but not here, not usually, not that I remember. I mean.. I think I've experienced snow as early as October.. the late part before, technically, but very light, turns to rain and doesn't stay. I think.

This one is well.. light, seems very wet and has been going for over an our already. It might not stay long after that.

Interesting to see the white flakes falling on the yellow leaves and a light film of white on the roofs.. should take pictures before it all goes away I suppose.

Ah.. them holidays.

It's Easter Sunday and I'm about to maybe bother to paint some eggs. I'll have to do it like, with a paintbrush and everything so who knows if I'll actually do it. Maybe I'll just draw faces on them.

Just got back from rehearsal for a show that on in like.. *gulps* 2 weeks. Are we ready? Well.. it's not for 2 weeks is it? So no, not ready. On the way there it snowed. Lightly, for a short time but it snowed.. and on spring holiday thing of the year #.. 2 or something. Can you believe it? Of course the trams and metros are all fucked up as they are sometime and particularly when you need to get places that need 2 or more modes of transport to get to.. and it's unseasonably cold and even though you know it you still can't bring yourself to dress like it's really winter, and you're wearing your comfy move around clothes.. and anyway I took a bus the long way and it took fucking FOREVER... but I was on time, I mean I was only as late as everyone else was.

And, it seems as if I'm moving on. Changing work, changing, well work not much else. Everything else is much as it has been.

Ok Weather Gods..

So you sent a bit of snow, very little, but being as freezing as it will continue to be for about another week, it seems, it's going to stay around a bit, giving us a little bit of that winter beauty that is supposed to come along with outrageously inhumane temperatures... I mean, it does make everything slippery, and you have to walk in that slow shuffling way when it gets intolerable to be outside after 4:45 minutes, and it's generally a pain but..

oh fuck it.. warm up already!!!!!

It snowed.. and it went away.

Now it seems to have snowed again, the last time I looked outside there was a light white cover on everything.. not sure if it's still there.

Been a pretty dull winter so far, haven't had much snow, yeah I like it.. I grew up somewhere it never snowed bla bla bla and well I like it. I mean, it's going to be winter, and cold, and overcast and drab leafless trees everywhere.. might as well be snow.

And there hasn't been. Until a few days ago and that went away pretty fast, and a bit earlier, no idea how long that will last.

And then came the snow.

It snowed. Well I think it did, judging from the light dusting of white stuff on the roofs. I think we're entering the season here I blog about nothing but the season.. I know it seems like I always do but at other times of the year when we get weather (or falling leaves) I occasionally mix it up with other stuff.

It's all weather from here on though.. except for the other season stuff, that of the silly variety which can in a way be put under the season umbrella, so there you go.

At least I'm sure it won't rain, and there won't be any ants.

I'm going to be acting in a film tomorrow. First one I've actually been in all year, pathetically enough, but at least there'll be one to show for dammit. It's set, at least this part of it, the only part I'm in, outside. Somewhere out of the city, on a hill. We're supposed to be having a picnic.

Now, when these filmmakers made plans to film their stuff in late November, early December, I'm sure they weren't expecting balmy sunny weather, and were probably making a choice to take a chance that it would rain on those dates, but I don't think anyone expected this.

It's been fucking snowing. It's been continuing fucking snowing, it's snowing now, it's snowing heavily, it will probably snow tomorrow. The script will probably need to be changed to say we're going on, say a hike, rather than a picnic, but goodness if it isn't going to be fun out there. I think it's supposed to be -5 or below, so I'm really going to like that bit.

And I'm still not completely well, but I could be by tomorrow.. that is, if I don't go gallivanting about tonight in this freezing slushy mess. That wouldn't be a problem if I didn't have class tonight, and if it wasn't the last class of the term, and I really really want to go to it, though to be honest I really don't feel like going. Have you seen how much snow is out there? And I don't have an activity :Z
