life. Home, me, etc. So, the first day o' the rest of my life was today, following the eve of it, which I celebrated by getting considerably wrecked, and thus this momentous day was spent by me, utterly useless and incapable of achieving a damn thing. At some point in the evening I was able to get the computer hooked up, and back in business, but so far business has been slow. It hasn't been so bad, despite the whole hangover thing and the utter explosion of my life and everything I hold dear courtesy of yours truly's stupid decisions/actions/lack thereof, which preceded, I mean, wasn't good but considering... And here I am. Tomorrow is the first day of action in this period, so perhaps there will be more to report on then. I'm not banking on it, but there's a slight possibility. Anyway, off to enjoy the being back and computerized in a more relaxing, befitting to my still delicate condition way.

Restful, restful Sunday.
That's how they're supposed to be so it's fitting. And as usual on a Sunday I did not much, and as usual for any day for me I did, nothing really. So relaxing, lazy and qui... *insert overused and imho quite outdated record scratching sound effect*
Ok not quiet. Had a dude come over to scare the cat. Well that wasn't his reason to come by, it was to put up shelves. He was a bit late, and then needed to go get some screws or something, so left to come back later.. this is like a rule for worker and fixit dudes here, without fail, at some point during their job, usually near the beginning, they need to leave to go get something and come back to finish the job, you'd think they'd figure out what kind of tools they need for a particular job after years of doing this but somehow it never sticks. Anyway, Erik had to go look at a monitor someone had cos I stole his other one for this computer after the one I was using on this one died and it was getting late, so off he went, even though I wasn't really sure how he wanted the shelves or where a lot of things are because he keeps moving things around and hiding everything, but whatever. I managed alright, even though the job this guy was a kind of interactive handyman, I had to figure out where to put the shelves, see if they were even, hold stuff, find an extra extension cord and when I couldn't because they all get moved, ie hidden all the time I took a bunch of things out of the one at our coffee station as I like to call it before we realized there was an outlet right by the spot he was working which I knew but I didn't think of at the time because I was too busy running around like a headless chicken trying to find another cord. Oh well. And it was really noisy, yeah, Cooley didn't like that, and well.. I wasn't overly fond of it. No one likes the sound of a drill. Well I don't know, I'm sure someone out there particularly likes it, there are exceptions to everything.
It did go ok and the shelves look good at least until they fall down which I hope they won't do, but that's my exciting day. Oh and I went out to lunch, well across the road and they forgot about my order and I had to wait for ages, and everyone else had already got there before me so I felt like I was holding everyone up, but I guess no one minded, and they made up for it, at the restaurant. It was actually a very pleasant lunch.
Tomorrow more stuff is being done, we're having a plumber wake us up at the crack of dawn, well 9am but you know, to come in and clink and clang and mess around with pipes and hopefully fix our leaky tap.
Life here sure is exciting :/

Yoohoo.. I'm home..
Yes. Home. Very tired. Long trip. Lots of changes and waits. A last trip to Tel Aviv for a few hours with luggage and nothing in particular to do with a few adventures on the way, including being accosted often.. mostly for a ride.. ie money, but also for our souls.. sorta. It's not as sinister as it sounds. But anyway, back home, with the kitty.. she's already as bratty as ever.. and we're settling back in to winter again. Pretty tired at the moment, might go into details at some point.

It's always something.
Here I sit, in layers, layers! At home, feeling very... er stinky. Still better than yesterday.
If it's not one thing. It's something else. Often it's still that thing as well as something new. At the moment it's the hot water heater. It's not working. Hence the wearing of layers as it's decided to become cold, like, proper preparing for winter cold, as in turn on the heater during the day or at least for a bit to let things heat up cold.. and of course.. well. And I haven't showered. Not recently.
It all started back on Sunday, otherwise known as Dorks With Beer Day. Others would call it an anniversary, but ya know. We planned to do our usual yearly (except for last year when we were in Paris) visit to U Medvidku, to have beer, cheese (me anyway) and just hangin out.
Some time during the day (before I'd had a shower) I tried washing some stuff up in the kitchen which I'd let pile up cos.. I could do it later, and the water didn't get hot. I went and checked the heater and there was this red light on and I fiddled around turning stuff on and off and etc etc etc it didn't work. Erik tried the same, and it didn't work, so we knew it was time for a guy.
Our landlord was able to get a guy, a plumber (thought that was slightly odd) in that evening. Not enough time for a shower before going out, but it was just one day then, so we cleaned up as good as we could.. and off we went. It was an afternoon beer having cos the football was on you see.. by that I mean the American kind so E wanted to be back or his game..and we needed to be back for the guy so.. had a lovely time, drank some beers, I had too much cheese, we took photos and acted like dorks.
Came home, settled in. Was a bit cold, but tolerable. The fixit dude came and well.. there was a part he didn't have you see, and was almost certain this was the problem and he'd be back tomorrow (yesterday) with another one and fix it.
The night carried on, I got some more beers. There was football in the other room, and me in this one drunkenly playing youtube videos and Facebook updating. Quite a fun night, despite everything.
So yesterday I woke up with a headache, but didn't think I was feeling too unwell. I'm often fooled this way, and it turned out, after trying to be up for a while, I did feel too unwell. Fixit dude came earlier than I thought he would, didn't feel like having someone in the flat, but I figured, he'll fix it quickly and then I can take a shower, and have heat and it'll be a little more comfortable.
It wasn't quick. What he thought was the problem wasn't the problem, so he fiddled around more, spoke to some guy on the phone. Then he went to get something from his car. Came back and fiddled around more, talking on the phone and such. Finally.. he told me he couldn't do it and call a proper expert (a not plumber) and they'd get back to me. Well.. I'd resigned myself to the fact that it wasn't going to happen, but I just wanted him to leave so I could lie down. Or rush to the toilet and puke in peace. he asked to use the toilet just before going, so he goes in, fiddles around with something, speaks to someone on the phone again and takes FUCKING AGES!!!!
Then he went and I was able to lie down, at least.
Now it's today and the proper dude is coming tomorrow. It's cold in here, I may havementioned that, I'm wearing layers in my own home and I feel very grimy. I might have mentioned that already too. As well as that someone upstairs is working on their flat, very noisily. I do feel much better though.

It's always something..
There I was, yesterday morning, leisurely getting up at whatever time I dann well wanted, which as pretty early come to think of it but that's not important, without a single scheduled lug up the stairs, have myself a coffee, mess around on the internet.. decide I'm a bit thirsty so I go to pour some water and...
NO BLOODY WATER COMES OUT!
Kept trying.. but nothing, after an hour, tried, but nothihng. Suddenly I was really really thirsty. Fun.
A real fun fucking day... it will go down on the annals of history as the (about 4 or 5 hours out of) day there was no water in (some parts of) Vršovice and possibly Vinohrady.
And I don't mean something piddly like no hot water, I mean no water running at all! No way to make another coffee, to have a drink of water, or even rinse an apple or anything! And of course I was thirsty, needed a shower and didn't have any food that could be consumed without being boiled. Yes, that bad. It was so bad I had to go downstairs to the pub, where they were keeping afloat by bringing in water from a truck outside.
So then I came back and it was on.. um.. ok so it doesn't seem all that traumatic now. Still.. I didn't really need it at the time.

*sneezes*
My home, is "literally" making me sick!
Making me sneeze, nose run, itchy eyes. Especially around the bedroom area (yes the bedroom is an "area" and not a room, bohemian artist dwellings like) where of course it has a major effect on me.
It's dust, and/or cat hair. It's always been here it just seems like there must be more now because it didn't effect me so much before. About a month and a half ago it started getting noticeable. We've tried to clean up as much as we can but it doesn't appear to be helping. Possibly it's because cleaning up the dust means kicking up more dust into the air which is where it has the most effect so perhaps it will settle eventually and as there will be less things will get better. I dunno.
All I know is it sucks. And I'm fed up! *pounds fist in air*

Oh yeah.. the blog
Ok, let's get right to it.
The main shit that's been going on with me recently is the move, well, the move + everything surrounding the move and reason for moving. On May 1 I moved into a quite nice, sunny, pleasant flat not far from here. Erik, who formerly lived in Israel but was visiting Prague fairly often and was in regular correspondence with myself arrived in Prague with his adorable cat Cooley, and moved in as well.
So the last 2 weeks we've been fixing up our cute little flat, wandering around looking at stuff, adoring and being amused by Cooley, hanging out at home luxuriously lolling in bed in the mornings and that sort of thing :)
Apart from that I've been doing the usual work and taking a lot of photos. I haven't done anything remotely acting related and, as anyone out there still reading knows, I haven't been writing either. And that's about it.
Feel free to chime in with comments anytime :)

Does that mean I'm a grownup now?
Well I finally have my own place all to myself! It's mine, mine, mine! I was kind of vaguely in a small way looking forward to this, to changing things around and making the place my own, having the place to myself and all kinds of new ideas for self portraits, but I just can't be bothered now. I just don't care, none of that shit matters. I feel alone, miserable and just, well, bla!

Now all I need is the cats.
I've come one step closer to realizing my dream. Yesterday I moved. Into my own flat this time. Finally after years of sharing I have my own place.
Actually though, right now I'm sharing it with someone for a short while. This is because the time I needed to move out of my other flat coincided (closely enough) with the time a certain person I know is leaving town.
And that will bring me yet closer still to my ultimate ambition of being a mad old spinster. For when he leaves on that jet plane, never to return*, I will be truly alone, with no one to love, or care about, or talk mindless nonsense with (someone cue the violins here please).
At least I'll have my own place, and now I can finally get some cats, and really, who need a man when you've got a kitten to cuddle:).
And of course it opens up more possibilities for better self portraits in exciting new environments. Oh yeah, I'm gonna have a whale of a time, (sigh).
*with vague ideas to maybe come back one of these days, but I'm not holding my breath here.
