Like I said..

I've been busy. I feel like I've been working long hours every day in a row for weeks and weeks. In reality, I'm on my 5th day in a row today, and I do usually 3/4 hours, or 7/8 every couple of days, which I know is not that impressive, indeed lazy hours for normal people, but in my defense, it has been very hot, and my job takes me outdoors, in the baking sun, up hills and round bends and.. actually there's not too much climbing hills either. Ok so I'm a lightweight, but I have been busy working every day and so, not much time to check in. At least not after the beers I generally have until late at night after work most days, so that's my excuse. It hasn't been so bad though, despite the heat, and the doing work part of it, it's been kind of fun really although I've come to the point where I need at least a brief rest from telling the same shit about the same stuff yet again for the nth time, n being 5, if you're talking days in a row. One more day and then, well I don't know, next week is a mystery. If people return and get over weird mysterious illnesses, I might go back to being someone more similar to myself, ie a lazy person who only works a few days. I'm kind of looking forward to that. And the rain, I really would like it to rain.

Hey, go easy! And if you have to go out into the sun, protect your fair skin with powerful sun-block, less you lose your girlish bloom :) Remember, work is bad for your mental and psychological well-being. Anything claiming otherwise is propaganda :)

Thanks for the tip, unfortunately, from a combination of being unprepared, more than a little lazy and very irresponsible I didn't heed that advice until yesterday, which admittedly was the hottest day and am covered in white lines where my sandals cover my feet, and I have a t-shirt tan. Oh and I'm quite red. I do quite agree with your second statement, I'm only doing this out of the goodness of my heart and it is, I swear it, temporary.

Well, even with a "patchy" complexion you look better than most. And in any case, it fades eventually.

Yes, when I first finished work, I'd convinced myself that I missed it, but now a year's passed and I've gained proper perspective, I realise just how fucking great it is to have one's days open-ended. And even if I don't actually do anything, I realise I could if wanted to. It's having the option that matters :)

Well that just sounds lovely. A lot of people say they couldn't stand that, but I reckon I'd get by just fine.

I think you and I have that in common - not being particularly well infused with the work ethic. To love work, thinks I, you have to be fortunate enough to have a passion that's also your job, otherwise, you're not living.

Can't you go on a daily posting spree again? I need a good excuse to keep writing, if only in comment form :)

I could, but you see, I'd have to think of things to write, and that's hard. I mean I'd like to.

No worries. No pressure. I only ask because I've had a couple of drinks, and these days, that's asking for trouble :)
