It seemed that quite recently, I don't know if it was a year ago, a couple of years ago or when that a lot of people still used windows xp for their operating system. I mean this came out in like.. the 90s.. I think, or the early 0s I dunno, but a long time ago in computer stuff terms and still, a large number of people, I won't say most because I don't know, wouldn't have then and now it's just a "seems like" sort of thing.
Well windows didn't really come out with anything after that for a while, I don't think. Then there was this thing called Vista (I think) well anyway this vista was coming out and they were going on and on about it what a huge deal it was. That was in, well the 0s at least, something like 6 years ago or more, I could look it up but I can't be bothered. Well anyway everybody hated it, like literally everybody, so everyone went back to XP. Again, literally everybody. And I think a lot of people have continued using it after that. Then windows came up with something else, and maybe something else after that, I don't know, Windows 7 is one of them, or it, and it's on the other comp and it seems much like xp but updated and improved (I suppose I don't really know but it isn't completely changed so it's like, another language and it isn't crappier as far as I know) and.. um, much like xp, I mean when I use that computer I notice that it runs faster and has different stuff on it, because it has more ram, more space and has different stuff on it, but I don't really notice the OS, except for the shut down thing, that's a bit weird but it's mostly ok. I guess that's when people finally started updating and XP finally began to be a thing of the past. I'm guessing here, it just seems like it.
Well I still have XP, I'm just not one of the many anymore. Not as much as I was anyway. It's worked fine for me, no problems, but as of the 8th of April this year, which I found out due to coming across something randomly somewhere about a week ago, and a popup on my computer on the 8th of April, it is no longer getting support. Thanks for the heads up, Windows. I mean, yeah you told me but.. surely you knew about this before.. um, when I first heard it, which I only did because I happened to see it, and yeah, on the actual day I got a popup but..
well anyway it's no big deal. I figure I'll be able to use it for a while, got one last update just last night as I turned off the comp and, I don't even know how it will affect this. Maybe it won't at all. Then again maybe I should update. I don't know.
And no, I really don't have anything better to write about, hence the not actually bothering to write most of the time. Ok that's not the reason, you know that's not the reason because when I don't have anything to write I quite often do anyway case in point this very post but, I've lost my train of thought. Yeah, I should update it.

Feelin really Jan.
Blurgh. It's Jan, it's drizzly and I'm feeling jan and drizzly myself. It just is.
I was going to mention something else, but I forgot what it was, it was so boring. Whatever it was is the most interesting thing that's happened today, judging by my original intention to mention it but.. can't think of it.. oh well, if it's important enough it'll come back. It isn't though.
Someone measured the windows today. don't know what it's for.. why would someone measure windows? What are they going to do? Am I gong to have to deal with more days of worker dudes coming by.. waiting all day for whenever they come, sitting here while they bang and clash with whatever they're doing with the windows, go out again because they need some part, come back, and then come back another day, whatever time they show up, to fix it? and then probably come back again at some unspecified I have to wait around all day time? That will suck. an it probably won't make any difference.
Happy Jan.

Damn, I thought I was all clever n stuff..
I've been having a few computer issues over the last month. Not the one I'm currently using.. well there are issues with this, but those are not the issues I'm talking about now.. well the issues with this computer contribute to the importance of sorting out the issues with the other one, but those are not the issues I'm going to focus on in this post.
The other computer is at this time running on what is little more than a kernel. I'm not sure if that sentence is correct or if I know what it means, but it's running on Linux, (Ubuntu or whatever) and at the moment most programs just won't work. I was able to put my photos on, and a little bit of editing, and Erik managed to configure Realplayer to play music, some anyway but further than that, I have no clue.
It's humbling. All this time, whenever I thought of it anyway, which admittedly is very little, I thought I'd be one of the clever, openminded people who'd take to Linux like something that takes very well to something else, and not one of those Windows minions who complain that it's not usable and Windows is better.
Well.. let me say this. I don't know if "better" is the right term, but at least for the moment Windows is much more me friendly. I mean.. progams are actual programs, and they work. And if you need to install something you click install.. and it installs. I wouldn't mind something a tad more complicated if there was no choice.. but a page full of lines of script that I'm supposed to do something with.. and talk about kernels and terminal emulators and configuring the command line with patches while fabricating the port for uxb app.1. Oh, and starting from System/Applications which I couldn't even find on the damn thing well.. That's not what I ordered. And my wifi thingy won't work on it because it only works on Windows.
Not to mention, my only experience with a Mac recently while I was in Italy didn't turn out well either. Something about automatically creating a trash folder when I wanted to delete stuff off my memory card and making it invisible so my card was still essentially full.. and when I got back on the dumbass' Windows comp it immediately showed the folder. Not that I'm bitter or anything.
Anyway, there's not much hope of this, but if there's anyone out there who understands this stuff and is able to explain it in any known human language that would be great, but I reckon it won't happen, so wev. I just have to face the fact I'm one of the crowd, the many, the common folk who like to click and play, and aren't capable of much more than that.
